Danny Shapiro is a founding partner and Beverage Director at Scofflaw Group in Chicago, where he oversees the beverage programs for Scofflaw, Slippery Slope, The Heavy Feather and The Moonlighter.

After beginning his Chicago hospitality career with Boka Restaurant Group, Danny developed his cocktail expertise while working at The Whistler under respected bartender Paul McGee. He later helped establish Scofflaw as a welcoming, gin-focused neighbourhood bar built around genuine hospitality and accessible, thoughtfully made cocktails.

Danny is widely recognised for his knowledge of gin and has been featured by publications including GQ and The New York Times. As an active bar owner and beverage operator, he brings practical experience in spirits selection, cocktail development, value, guest preferences and commercial performance to the Bartender Spirits Awards judging panel.
